"BEETHOVEN OPUS 130"
This unique hand-stitched rug was donated to Project: Music Heals Us by Petra Singh of Equator Productions, designers of some of the highest quality rugs in the world.
Beethoven's manuscript shows the struggle of a composer in the process of creating one of the most cherished works of music in the Western canon. Unlike Mozart, whose work flowed directly and perfectly from the composer's mind onto the manuscript page, Beethoven's score shows the violent second-guessing of a composer who, in his attempts to connect with the divine, was deeply in touch with his own fallibility.
To see this marvelous piece in person, as well as support musicians providing hope and inspiration to thousands of people in hospice care, homeless shelters, hospitals, and prisons, please join us for the PROJECT: MUSIC HEALS US GALA on March 28th!
