Prison Residency Updates!

Our resident Prison Outreach ensemble, the Solera Quartet, just finished another wonderful week of Prison Outreach Concerts! Thank you to all who helped make this week possible.

We started the week out with (VERY) early morning concerts in MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution (proof below)...

We continued the week in Danbury Federal Correctional Institution by passing our official Federal DOC training (Woot! Woot! Getting us all set for our upcoming "Musical Immersion" week in early January) and having a blast performing for the facility's incarcerated women. We then skipped over to the shoreline to make a quick appearance on Shoreline Music Monthly with the wonderful Mark P Koschwitz as our host (episode to be aired in January 2018)...

And we finally finished out the week with a concert at Yale's Slifka Chapel, presenting a lecture/performance in which we discussed how the healing power of music can be used as a tool for social change.

Closing out an exciting year of PMHU activities in two weeks with one more week of Prison Outreach performances in Rikers Island. Stay tuned!
